Program Specialist (On-Call)

POSITION:     PROGRAM SPECIALIST (On-Call)

RESPONSIBLE TO: Program Director, Hong Fook Adult Day Health Care Center

COMMITMENT (HOURS): On-Call (Not exceeds 40 hours/week)

STATUS: Non-exempt (3 months orientation period)

JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Program Director, the On-Call Program Specialist will be responsible for assisting various departments within the Hong Fook program.  Besides performing direct care to the clients, the program specialist will be responsible for clerical and programmatic duties as well.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To assist participants with personal care including toileting, feeding, grooming and transferring as needed.
  • To assist with meal serving and set-up as needed.
  • To assist the therapists in carrying out individual and group treatment and report changes to the therapists as needed.
  • To be responsible for the order and cleanliness of the program areas.
  • To assist with filing, typing, xeroxing, computer updating, form updating, ordering supplies, correspondence, medical records, receptionist.
  • To carry out other duties as needed and as assigned by the Program Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability and willingness to work with frail seniors and disabled adults, including performing personal care.
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Clerical experiences such as filing, typing, xeroxing, computer usage, telephone reception, and ordering supplies, etc.
  • Bilingual in English and Cantonese preferred.
  • Motivation and initiative to learn new skills and flexibility to expand duties as required by program.

ADA REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Good general health and able to lift 50 lbs safely.
  • Good vision and hearing required.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended period.

SALARY RANGE:  Depends on experience.
